Shakuntala Rajagopal, affectionately known as Dr.Shaku, was born in Kerala, South India, and came to the United States in her early twenties.  After a long and distinguished career in Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, she retired to be an active grandmother, while pursuing her passions of writing and painting. She lives with her husband in Algonquin, Illinois.
